I love this skill!
Last night I went home and I had the opportunity to put this skill in action straightaway.
My six year old son hadn't finished packing away before bed time and this usually ends up with both of us sulking and going to be feeling frustrated and incomplete.
I walked into his room and said:
"I see a very hungry bulldozer and tipper truck. But Mr tipper truck I see you are empty? What happened to the bulldozer...is he out of petrol...?
My son shouted out, "Mom I want to be the bulldozer. I'm full of petrol now."
I said: "Ok. Mr Bulldozer... where are you going to start first.... picking up those blocks there or over there with your clothes."
We then went around the room and within a few minutes everything was packed away.
A few minutes later we lay in bed cuddling and my son says, "That was fun mom. Can we please play that game again tomorrow."
